AddressWalters People: Finance Team Leader – Birmingham – Permanent – £33,000 - £35,000 – Hybrid. I am currently working alongside a leading business based in Birmingham in their recruitment of a Finance Team Leader on a permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities of the Finance Team Leader:
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of the agent's accounts payable team with direct line management of 5 staff
- To ensure that the creditor's ledger is operated accurately, efficiently and to agreed timescale, and ensure that the creditors are paid accurately and on time
- To ensure smooth operation of the weekly payment runs and adequate checks to ensure that the correct payments are made to the correct creditors
- Oversee the production of relevant weekly and monthly reports and prepare monthly financial analysis on payments and expenditure to internal stakeholders
- To be proactive and take initiatives to review and make suggestions to improve processes and procedures in relation to accounting systems, reconciliation processes and procedures and to drive best practice
- To provide excellent customer service, manage and maintain good relationship with the internal and external stakeholders, in particular our key suppliers
- Ensure appropriate financial controls are in place and functioning effectively
About you as the Finance Team Leader:

- Strong analytical, negotiation, problem solving and conflict resolution skills to help resolve queries and issues
- Strong team management and process management skills.
- Experience of managing an accounts payable team in a dynamic organisation
- Relevant accounts payable knowledge and experience of control account reconciliations
- Familiar with both transaction and management accounting functions
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Experience of working with multiple systems for day to day work
- PQE within a high-growth / PE-backed business (desirable)
