Sellick Partnership are currently recruiting for a Financial Accountantfor our Public Sector client.
Overview of the Financial Accountant;
The Financial Accountant will provide support to the Head of Financial Services across a range of services within Financial Accounting and Financial Services. This role will be responsible for providing sound financial and capital accounting, charitable fund and cash services. The Financial Accountant manage and develop finance staff on a day-to-day basis to ensure that the financial services teams are providing efficient, high quality and customer focused functions
Key responsibilities for the Financial Accountant are;
- Leading the production of charitable funds statutory annual accounts
- Supporting audit queries and providing relevant information
- Producing and developing monthly information for inclusion in the Board Report, highlighting and explaining areas of concern/variance
- Preparing and completing elements of the statutory accounts and related returns
- Preparing elements of monthly monitoring returns of the current and forecast financial position and performance
- Treasury management
- Supporting the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team
- Preparing and maintaining a rolling cash flow and cashflow forecast
- Analysing financial information for month end reporting and year end accounts
The Ideal candidate for the Financial Accountant will have;
- Professional accountancy qualification CCAB with significant post qualification knowledge, expertise and experience in financial services, systems and staff management
- Experience of Financial Accounting in a large organization
- Significant knowledge of the NHS finance regime and experience of applying this to own organisations finance systems and procedures
- Ability to rapidly develop understanding of existing and new systems and processes in order to determine best practice
- Experience of effectively managing and developing staff
- An understanding of current accounting standards and principles (IFRS)
- Excellent written and report writing skills & have the ability to convey complex financial issues to non Finance Managers
- A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010
