Financial Controller, Dartford area, Up to 75k
Our client is looking for an experienced Financial Controller with experience in the construction industry to focus on the accounting and reporting function within the company New Homes Division.
The Responsibilities of the Financial Controller are:
- Collaborates with the FD to provide divisional management information.
- Manage a small finance team.
- Support bi–weekly cashflow forecasts.
- Technical and Process Support.
- Manages month close, journal preparation/review, adhering to strict month–end schedules.
- Processes monthly contract accounting and ensures accurate cost allocation to projects.
- Manages labour allocations, staff utilization alongside the Commercial function.
- Provides payroll and pension support.
- Overhead reporting and ensuring costing accuracy.
- Sets up new projects and employees in the IT system.
- Supports cash and contract budgeting and forecasting.
- Coordinates balance sheet reconciliation, cleansing, and analysis
- Assists in Tenders & Business plan when required.
- Involvement in the introduction of new ERP/IT systems.
- Coordinates and completes audit requirements.
- Documents support processes and procedures.
- Assists in ensuring full VAT, CIS, PAYE compliance.
The skills and experience required for the Financial Controller are:
- Technical and Commercial accounting proficiency.
- Comprehensive accounting experience (Management accounting, Financial accounting, Governance, Audit, Tax).
- Agile and proactive mentality.
- Desire to develop and drive improvement.
- Ability to work collaboratively and autonomously.
- CIMA or ACCA qualification.
- Fully Qualified is a MUST.
- Construction background
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV platforms (E–Vision and Business Central).
- Knowledge of JET reporting.

Hybrid role 3 days office and 2 days at home, Good salary plus benefits
Possible 2–3 days of travel per month (potentially overnight) to other offices, depending on home location.
