Your new role
The Finance Director oversees all financial operations, strategic planning, and ensures the financial health and compliance of the organisation. They are responsible for providing all financial reporting to the group. They will report to the UK Managing Director and offer leadership and guidance to the UK Finance Team. The position involves collaborating with the UK Senior Management Team and overseeing all financial aspects of the UK business across its various divisions. Additionally, the role entails active participation in the broader Finance Community within the global organisation, while considering the existing matrix structure. Responsibilities include:
- Financial strategy
- Financial Reporting
- Budgeting & forecasting
- Financial risk management
- Financial compliance
- Investment and capital management
- Financial analysis
- Cost control
- Staff management - leading a team of 5 in finance
- Systems and process maintenance and implementation
- Stakeholder management
- Mergers & acquisitions, leading due diligence
- Company secretarial
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal person for the position will be fully qualified ACCA, ACA or CIMA, with a demonstrable background working in a growing SME managing all financial controls from a hands-on perspective. Confidence in transactional finance, management and financial accounting is essential, along with a proven successful background managing and mentoring a team. The right person will have experience working in an operational industry, ideally relating to the construction sector. A background working in a business that forms part of a matrix structure is also advantageous. This position would suit someone who is detailed, confident, articulate, consistent and has a positive, motivational energy.
