Position Overview:Tameside Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Fostering Team Manager to join their dynamic fostering services team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and manage our agency Fostering Team, ensuring the delivery of exceptional fostering services to children and young people in need. You will be supporting Supervising Social Workers to manage a team of 150 foster carers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the agency Fostering Team, providing direction, support, and supervision to team members.
- Oversee the recruitment, assessment, and training of agency foster carers, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Develop and implement strategies to effectively match children and young people with suitable foster placements, considering their individual needs and circumstances.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance and outcomes of agency fostering placements, implementing interventions and support as required.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including social workers, schools, and partner agencies, to promote positive outcomes for children and young people in foster care.
- Ensure that all agency fostering activities adhere to statutory requirements, policies, and procedures, maintaining high standards of safeguarding and child welfare.

- Registered with social work England
- Eligible to work in the UK
- A full UK license holder
