About the Role

Experience: Do you have proven experience in business support functions, supporting clerk and governor recruitment, and the development of a comprehensive governance knowledge bank?

Regulatory Compliance: You will play a vital role in fulfilling the statutory duties of the Local Authority (LA) related to school governance, as well as contribute to the enhancement of governance through governor training initiatives.

Customer Experience: You will thrive in this outward-facing role involving direct interaction with our valued customers, including schools and governors. Your focus will be on delivering a service that is not only of high quality but also characterised by timeliness and efficiency.

Support Packages: Ofsted considers the quality of a school’s governance to be a key element in the Leadership and Management judgement. You will offer a range of support packages to school governing boards with a focus on clerking, governance advice and information, as well as links to training.

Administration and Finance: You will provide financial advice on our Service Level Agreements with schools and administrative support, including clerking services, to school and academy Boards. Collaborating with the Governor Services Manager, you will monitor meeting allocations and efficiently coordinate meeting coverage when necessary.

Continuous Improvement: Can you thrive in a dynamic environment where your contributions will significantly impact the success of our Governor Services Team? You will provide clerking support to a limited number of schools with flexibility in this area based on workload and the ability to provide cover when needed.

  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of statutory regulations and policies related to education governance.
