The role:
- Interest in development planning, the built environment, transport, and sustainable travel
- Desire to work in an SME environment with regular exposure to developers, architects, local authorities, and the general public.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and present in a clear and concise manner both face-to-face and through report writing.
- Assess and feedback advantages and disadvantages of development proposals in their local physical context.
- Analyse traffic impact and road capacity through use of national database and modelling software
- Help identify effective sustainable travel solutions to help manage and reduce vehicle traffic impact.
- Efficiently interpret national and local planning guidance and policy to maximise the potential in new developments.
- Review architect layouts against relevant design standards.
- Help prepare for, attend and record internal and client project meetings.
- Co-operate with the workplace's Quality Management System (QMS) through undertaking administrative activities.
- Request and instruct on highways surveys (ATC, Parking, Topographical, etc)
- Carry the company brand and reputation through business development and marketing input.
- Complete the graduate programme and implement skills learnt through the course.

- Good written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to prioritise workload.
- Ability to work effectively with other staff and as part of a team.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Previous experience of working with computer-based systems including Microsoft packages
