We are now recruiting for a Group Head of Environment to join our Group Sustainability team to continue to drive our group's environment strategy forward.
Working for Megan Adlen, our Group Sustainability Director, this role is accountable for evolving our group's environment strategy as part of the wider sustainability framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead our carbon reduction programme. You’ll work closely with our internal property, fleet and sourcing teams to ensure our already established roadmaps are progressing and continue to evolve
- Develop our carbon offset plan in readiness for 2035
- Provide regular metrics and insights to the business, showcasing progression against our targets, and use this data to drive decision making
- Be the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholder engagement. You’ll attend meetings with key customers, suppliers and colleagues to discuss and advise on environmental related activities
- Own and evolve our groups waste strategy in partnership with our facilities management team
- Manage the ISO14001 process including all applicable audits and business unit compliance
- Work with multiple internal teams (procurement, sales etc) by assisting with tender responses that are compliant with environmental legislation
What are we looking for?
- 5+ years experience in leading the environment agenda for a large organisation
- An expert in carbon and waste leadership
- Experience in owning ISO14001 and with full IEMA membership
- You’ll have experience of working in a commercial or B2B environment
- Data is key to the success of this role, and therefore you’ll be analytical and comfortable gathering, interpreting and sharing large sets of data to a range of stakeholders
- You’ll be a true leader. Whilst this role does not encompass any direct reports at this time, you’ll influence a range of stakeholders across the group, as well as external stakeholders
