Head Of Commercial Finance - Lending (Director)

Global Bank is currently hiring for a Head of Commercial Finance to lead their Lending division (Mortgages & Unsecured Loans) based in Birmingham. This is newly created role that has been created due to an internal re-structure and reporting directly to the CFO of the business.

Responsibilities:

• Directly lead a team of 4 Finance Business Partners and indirectly a team of offshore staff
• Responsible for driving business performance, providing finance stewardship, controllership governance and oversight and contributing to the formation of business strategy for the Lending business.
• Key strategic partner, driving execution towards delivery of the business strategy and goals, providing strategic financial leadership on issues affecting the lending business
• Responsible for the financial health of the business, identifying and mitigating financial risks and working with various stakeholders to create an in-depth picture of the finances.
• Provide dedicated advisory services to the Mortgage and Unsecured Lending business stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a Commercial Finance role (FP&A or FBP) or Treasury (ALM) experience from the Financial Services Industry – Essential
• Experience managing a lending products Asset book
• Ability to bring the numbers to life and present the ‘story’
• Strategic, analytical and commercially mindset
• Proven experience of managing, engaging, leading and motivating a team;
• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA, CIMA or equivalent) – Highly preferred

This is a unique role that is essentially the acting as the CFO for the Lending business and involves regular interaction with key stakeholders, so it is essential that you have strong interpersonal skills. The role requires 3 days in the office in Birmingham and offers a realistic career progression path to a C-Suite title in the future.
