Robert Half are excited to be recruiting for a Head of Finance to join a well respected charity to lead the small finance team.
The Head of Finance will support the Chief Executive in strategic and operational planning, governance and compliance of the organisation, both long-term and day-to-day, a role in which they work strategically across the organisation.
You will be responsible for all financial systems and processes and ensuring that risks are identified and mitigated. Being a relatively small team, the role will require a hands on approach to managing the department and contributing to the business as usual activities
Some activities include:
- Being responsible for all finance processes insuring that they are robust and well managed together with co-ordinating and monitoring financial planning and budgets.
- Oversee the finance department's management of the day-to-day financial operations within the Charity, such as payroll, invoicing, bank reconciliations, payments and other transactions.
- Prepare and present a wide range of financial reports including monthly management accounts, quarterly subcommittee papers, Board accounts/reports, annual statutory accounts, annual budgets and project reports
- Work with the SLT and finance team and other departments to create the organisational annual budget and additional budgets when required together with forecasts; monitoring them throughout the year and ensuring budget holders understand their financial position
- Lead and be accountable for the annual financial audit in line with Charity Commission and HMRC regulations Set up and maintain secure systems for credit control to provide accurate reporting on aged debtors.
