This prestigious educational organisation is currently seeking a Head of Finance to join their high performing team on a permanent basis in Romford. Reporting into a highly experienced Director, this critical role will be responsible for the financial management of the organisation’s key operational entities, ensuring the timely delivery of critical targets and driving enhanced financial performance in line with the organisation’s ambitious strategic goals.

The key duties of this Head of Finance are as follows:

• Develop the finance team, ensuring objectives are met and ensuring policies and processes are put in place and utilised across the organisation
• Review annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for the organisation to ensure optimal accuracy and reliability, providing high level analysis of these to the SLT and Board of Trustees
• Prepare and produce the financial statements, statutory and regulatory returns, balance sheet reconciliations, putting together the consolidated accounts and presenting cash flow reports to directors/key stakeholders
• Take the lead in the review and provision of robust financial controls, ensuring there are no gaps, and all processes comply with the relevant financial standards. Leading on year end audit process from start to finish and be the main point of contact
• Prepare and deliver high quality financial reports and insightful analysis for all levels in the organisation such as budgetary information for projects and funding bids
• Review and monitor monthly management accounts prepared by the finance team

This opportunity also works extremely close with key, senior external stakeholders given the nature of the work. Please note that this role will based in Romford where you are required to be in the office due to the nature of the organisation.

The successful Head of Finance will have:

• Demonstrable experience working at a senior level within a complex establishment
• Managed a team across a number of tiers, ideally through a period of change
• A background working in either education or the wider public sector would be an advantage 
• Brilliant stakeholder management skills and experience influencing decision making at board level
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and high levels of resilience
