Your Company: A business operating in the healthcare sector has partnered with the team at NET Recruit to support them on their search for an experienced Head of Finance to join their team in the Worthing area. This career defining position will allow the position holder to take full ownership of the financial controls, systems, processes and duties for the business, overseeing the day-to-day running of operations within the finance function. There will be a large amount of hands-on accounting within the role, alongside opportunities to provide strategic and commercial support and provide comprehensive reporting and advice to the Board of Directors. Role and Responsibilities: While in this position your duties may include but are not limited to: Ensuring that all financial processes are well managed and have effective controls in place to solidify integrity of the financial systems Responsibility for the day-to-day management of financial operations within the Head office, including tasks such as monthly payroll, invoicing, purchase ledger and bank payments and reconciliations Overseeing month-end processes such as the production of management accounts, balance sheets fixed assets and depreciation, creditors and prepayments and accruals, major control account reconciliations and getting the monthly accounts signed off by the Board of Directors Taking ownership of financial reporting across the business, including accompanying reports for the management accounts, annual statutory accounts and budgets, and alongside this, cash flow reports, highlighting how excess cash is being utilised with advice, and also contract performance analysis with forecasts for future contract cash flows Supporting the creation of the organisation annual budget, ensuring these are closely monitored throughout the year whilst assisting budget holders to understand their financial position and providing insight as to where cost savings can be attained Leading the annual financial audit process, making sure that any information required is attained and ready whilst building good strong relationships with external accountants and auditors Acting as a key point of knowledge for the Directors and other shareholders or matters relating to their own financial position, including the management of dividend payments What You Will Need To Apply: To be considered for this role, applicants must be qualified accountants, either ACA, ACCA or CIMA, and have significant post-qualified experience (at least 5 years). As well as this, the right candidate will have experience in setting up financial controls as well as processes and procedures and be knowledgeable in developing financial systems. Alongside this, it is expected that the successful candidate will also have experience in budgeting and forecasting. You must possess excellent communication abilities, and possess demonstratable experience in presenting financial information and reporting at board level, and be able to communicate such information to non-financial stakeholders. Previous oversight into multiple business functions such as HR, IT and Operations would be highly beneficial. What You Will Get In Return: As the successful candidate, you can expect a starting salary in the region of £75,000 to accompany a generous peripheral package including over 30 days of holiday (inclusive of bank holidays), a fantastic pension scheme and additional employee perks and an employee assistance program.
