Background
Every three minutes someone in the UK develops dementia; a progressive and complex condition that can be devastating for the whole family. One in two of us will be affected by dementia in our lifetime – either by caring for someone with the condition, developing it ourselves, or both.
Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nursing charity that is there for the whole family. Our specialist nurses, known as Admiral Nurses, provide free, expert advice, support and understanding to help families care for their loved one. Every day, Admiral Nurses help families up and down the country to have the best life possible for as long as possible.
About the role
Dementia UK is seeking a passionate and strategic Head of Financial Planning and Analysis to join our team and play a pivotal role in ensuring the long-term financial viability of the charity. Working collaboratively with the Director of Finance and Corporate Services, Head of Financial Accounts, and Senior Management Team, you will lead the development and implementation of robust financial strategies, ensuring we have the resources to support people living with dementia and their families.
As the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis you will be responsible for managing the organisation's annual budget setting cycle. You will formulate and deliver the annual budgets, supporting individual budget holders with financial modelling requirements and advice. Your role will drive and deliver the long-term business model for Dementia UK, ensuring robust management of Financial performance including forecasts and reporting to support our strategic goals. Furthermore, you will manage a team of three by leading and motivating them to provide a high quality service to colleagues and delivering a culture of customer-focused continuous improvement and value for money.
The ideal candidate for this role will possess a professional accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA or equivalent along with extensive experience in Financial Planning and the interpretation of complex financial information. Your proven track record of leading, managing and coaching staff and supporting them through times of change will be invaluable as well as confidence in formulating, producing and presenting complex financial reports.
If this sounds like you, join us in making a difference in the lives of those affected by dementia.
