This is an urgent business critical position so the selected candidate must be able to start within a week of being offered and candidates who have long notice periods will not be considered.
Main Purpose of the job:
The leadership of the delivery and strategic oversight of the repairs and maintenance service to residents throughout Lewisham, and to have management responsibility for our In-House Contractor team and contract management of third-party delivery partners.
To lead numerous teams to deliver the following functions:
- Responsive repairs and out of hours, borough wide. This includes managing the in-house workforce, specialist repairs workers and contractors.
- The management of Disrepair and damp and Mould cases to ensure a rounded understanding of the whole property condition and repairs function to inform service improvement.
- Managing Electricians in the delivery of legislative servicing of electrical works
- The Contact Centre, Planning and Scheduling teams optimising use of technology to deliver efficiencies and managing planned vs emergency repairs. The customer focus element will sit within this team communicating appointments to customers and to facilitate the complaint investigations, responses, and analysis.
- Voids. Delivery of voids works including management of contractors and team working with Tenancy Management. Monitoring of voids, development and delivery of voids standard and processes and preparing business cases for high-cost voids.
- Management of supplies and stores.
Evidence of managing significant multi million-pound programmes of work successfully - on time and budget.

ExperienceA minimum of 3 years’ experience with the repairs and Maintenance field and project works.
Experience of managing and prioritising your own workload in a high-pressured environment
3 years’ experience at the level of a head or senior role
Extensive management experience including people management, budget management, performance management and risk management
Experience of working Experience of leading the tendering and procurement of significant work streams, ensuring all documentation was produced, risks were assessed, and work was won and/or purchased on a sustainable basis.
Experience of managing in a strong performance management environment where there were clear, explicit service targets, with evidence of consistently meeting the targets set.
Experience of working within a client/contractor environment.
