We are seeking an experienced People/HR Advisor with a passion for employee engagement and a track record in delivering practical HR guidance. While this is an initial 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract (maternity cover) there is ample opportunity to make an impact from day 1 and gain invaluable career experience.

What you'll be doing day to day
- Provide expert and practical guidance to stakeholders on a range of employment issues, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, and performance management.
- Coach, advise and support stakeholders on talent management and engagement matters.
- Contribute to strategic projects related to HR transformation and improvement initiatives.
- Assist in the implementation of annualised events such as performance/career discussions and pay reviews.
- Develop and advise on HR policies in compliance with the latest employment legislation.
- Collaborate with colleagues in L&D, Recruitment and People Services to deliver timely, appropriate, and integrated HR solutions.
- Utilise HRIS and other tools for data analysis, offering insights for effective decision-making.
- Support individuals with wellbeing concerns and liaise with specialist services where appropriate
About you
- Demonstrable experience in a fast-paced professional HR environment.
- Proven expertise in managing absence, performance, disciplinary, and grievance casework.
- Multi-faceted HR function experience, understanding employment legislation and best practices.
- Proactive, efficient, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a logical, practical approach to HR advisory.
- Personable with effective communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strategic awareness with the ability to handle ambiguity and challenges.
- Excellent prioritization skills to meet business deadlines.
- Educated to A-level (grades A-C) or equivalent, with GCSE (grades A-C/5-9) or equivalent.
- Proficient in IT tools, including Microsoft Office and virtual meeting software.
