Job description

A little bit about who we are looking for

We are looking for an experienced HR Director to provide Maternity Leave Cover (starting May/June 2024 for 13-14 months, which includes 1-2 months handover). Reporting directly to the CEO, you will have overall responsibility for the entire HR and payroll function.

The ideal candidate would have a passion for HR and ideally be CIPD qualified to at least level 5 (or have an HR degree) and would have experience of managing an HR department in a generalist role in an SME.

A little bit about our culture

From very early in their Random42 career, we encourage people to have autonomy and urge them to present their own fresh ideas. We ensure we provide a supportive environment while also giving our people the room they need to succeed in their role on their own. This contributes to an engaged workforce, who are aspiring to take the next step in their career with Random42. We actively encourage internal promotion and don’t put time-limits on when this can be achieved.

We like to set clear expectations of what to expect from everyone and how their personal performance can contribute to the Company’s objectives. Individual progression of our people is based on observing their progress in terms of performance, and equipping them with the knowledge, skills and confidence to take the next step.

The most common feedback from both new starters and exit interviews is how friendly, welcoming and supportive our team is. People treat each other with respect, real friendships and positive working relationships are formed, and our team enjoy spending time together at company social events.

We want our team to feel comfortable at work so that they can be as happy and productive as possible and so we have a relaxed dress code which welcomes casual dress.

We encourage employees to be their authentic selves and bring their personality with them to work. This contributes to the happy environment we are so proud of. Our central offices have been designed to incorporate dedicated high spec social areas including open plan kitchen, dining area and a roof terrace to encourage colleagues to relax together and engage with each other.

We understand the importance flexible working can play in retaining people and making them feel supported. We have implemented a hybrid working policy to promote a better work-life balance for our team. We also consider any formal or informal individual flexible working requests thoroughly and fairly and do what we can to support these where possible.
