Full Site Based Role
We are thrilled to be recruiting for our Manufacturing client whose main UK site is based in Preston. We are looking for an experienced HR professional with proven experience working in a Generalist role ideally based within a manufacturing company.
This is a 'stand-alone' role playing a pivotal & crucial role in the business supporting the Board of Directors and their people across the whole company - current headcount of 80 employees with plans to double in 2024.
As our clients new HR Advisor you will report directly in to the Managing Director.
In your new role you will be responsible for:
First point of contact for all Line Managers and employees concerning HR queries.
Support the business and colleagues in areas such as maternity/paternity, retirement, absence, disciplinaries and other HR topics
Liaise with our third party HR advisors to ensure we are following all legal and procedural requirements as required.
Manage pre-employment screening and facilitate the onboarding of new employees, document verification and new starter documents.
Provide support throughout the employee lifecycle, including generating accurate employee letters and handling processes for movers, leavers, and joiners.
Maintain employee and general files, ensuring the security and accuracy of HR-related information.
Update and manage employee data on the HR System.
Manage the annual screening of existing employees, verifying the right to work in the UK.
Lead and support a range of ad hoc initiatives and projects
Ensure all company policies are regularly reviewed
Assist in developing a positive company culture in line with company values
Keep up to date with relevant employment legislation
Leading/assisting with advertising and interviewing for roles within the business
Collaborate with the finance team to liaise with a third-party provider to process the monthly & weekly payrolls.
Contribute to pension administration processes.
Previous Experience
It would be ideal if you have HR support experience within a manufacturing business to fully understand the full production & supply chain process, the talent & teams across a manufacturing site and also the possible problematic areas that can arise within a HR role.

Contractual Obligations & Benefits
> £38,000 salary
> Monday to Thursday 8am-4.30pm Fridays 8am-3.30pm
> 25 days annual leave (saving 3 days for their Christmas Shutdown)
