Job Title: Finance Assistant (Immediate Start)
Location: Bromsgrove

I am currently working with a specialist wholesale business and due to internal changes, are looking to welcome a Finance Assistant on a temporary basis. The business is family-run by two sisters, who are specialist within their fields, and have 30+ years in their specific industry. This role will be reporting into the Financial Controller, who Simpson Judge have placed into the business. This Company is currently dealing with a turnover of £11+ million and have been operating for over 10 years, with a recent venture into the European market.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales ledger and reporting
- Allocation and posting of customer receipts, follow up and resolution of queries
- Month end customer statement process
- Preparation of month end reports for key customer groups and reconciliation to sales ledger
- Preparation of sales figures as requested by Account Managers (support to Finance Manager for sales information reporting) including ad-hoc sales analysis
- Key finance contact for customers and support to Customer Services team for queries on customer accounts
- Credit control:
- Review and chasing of overdue accounts by phone and email
- Maintaining accurate records
- Placing accounts on hold and review of accounts on hold
- Review and resolve unallocated cash on accounts
- Provide report with overdue debt that requires escalation to Account Managers
- Ensuring people pay on time by continuously looking at improving credit control process
Customer Services/Export
- Support the Customer Services and Export teams when needed, tasks could include: Processing orders/returns/credits via SAGE, direct contact with customers and working with the Account Managers.
Purchase ledger
- Matching purchase invoices to orders, delivery notes and processing invoices
Expenses
- Review/checking of expense claims and corporate card statements, summarising in Excel and posting to SAGE
Petty Cash
- Administer petty cash including end of month reconciliation and posting to ledger
Other
- Consignment stock maintenance on SAGE
- Costs review and preparation of analysis for Finance Manager
- Support the sustainability objectives of the finance team
Key Requirements
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Completed or Partially completed Level 3 AAT
