IT Coordinator
An opportunity has arisen to join the IT Team at the Single Source Regulations Office (SSRO). We are a small Non-Departmental Public Body based in the Government Offices Great George Street tasked with regulating the UK government’s ‘single source’, or non-competitive, procurement of military goods, works and services. The SSRO’s principal aim is to ensure that good value for money is obtained for the UK taxpayer in Ministry of Defence (MOD) expenditure on qualifying single source defence contracts, and that suppliers are paid a fair and reasonable price under those contracts.
You will be an important part of a dynamic organisation. Our staff have a range of professional skills, including accountants, lawyers, analysts, economists, and military experts and IT services are key to ensuring everyone has reliable, effective and secure systems available to perform their jobs. We are a highly able, committed, and collaborative team with a culture of continuous improvement in how we deliver our work.
We deal with sensitive information that must be properly secured, and a range of measures have been put in place to protect the material we deal with and to provide assurance to our stakeholders. Security considerations are embedded within the design of the SSRO, its policies and its physical and technical infrastructure. All infrastructure and end user computing solutions have been configured based upon National Cyber Security Centre and MOD guidelines utilising Official accredited Cloud solutions with minimal onsite equipment. The majority of IT services are provided by external suppliers, with strategic and contract management and oversight retained by a small internal function.
We would be particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate a track record in:
- IT coordination and administration;
- Procurement of technology equipment and services;
- Record keeping and scheduling;
- Asset management and project support;
- End-user support and IT induction including dealing with senior stakeholders and executive and non-Executive Board Members;
- User engagement and user needs management;
- Presenting technical solutions in clear, succinct language to end users.
The role will require you to undergo national security vetting to the level of Security Check (SC).
