IT Support Technician
Birmingham (Onsite)
£25,000 Fixed Term Contract (5-6 Months)
Gleeson Recruitment are working on an exciting opportunity alongside a well established alcohol manufacturing company based in Birmingham.
The purpose of the role is to be the first point of contact for all I.T support issues on a reactive/responsive basis.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a similar technical role and can hit the ground running quite easily in a 1st line environment. There is room to develop skills for those with limited experience though a degree of working knowledge within 1st line is still required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strong communication skills and the ability to relate to the support needs of visitors and staff.
- Analytical approach to diagnostic and problem solving.
- Strong logic and mathematical ability.
- Able to use common Microsoft desktop applications to support the role.
- The ability to work on your own or as part of a team.
- The initiative and tenacity to undertake tasks and follow them through to completion.
- Highly organised and able to multi-task effectively
- To work calmly when under pressure.
Experience/ Knowledge: ?????
- Working in a busy IT support team supporting end users in a Microsoft Windows environment.
- Supporting common business IT systems.
- A multi-site IP network.
- Evaluating user requirements.
- Contact with external service organisations.
- IT systems in manufacturing.
- Using cloud-based IT services.
- Familiarity with firewalls, network switches.
