Job description

Job Introduction

Are you a legal professional who has experience of working in civil litigation and ready for your next challenge?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Paralegal to join our well regarded, supportive, Staffordshire Legal Services Insurance Litigation Team where you will have opportunity to develop and grow your potential with us.

Main Responsibility

You will have responsibility for a variety of fee-earning tasks and, with supervision, manage your own caseload of pre-litigated personal injury claims, litigated small claims (property damage) and fast track personal injury claims.

The caseload will predominantly comprise public liability highways claims and you will have conduct of the claims from initial instruction through to trial, so the ability to apply the law relating to Highways/Employers Liability/Occupiers Liability is key for this role.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • undertaking all aspects of legal work including supporting senior colleagues in the conduct of their caseloads
  • conducting legal research
  • providing advice to clients
  • drafting witness statements, preparing court documents and letters
  • preparing and maintaining management information in relation to work undertaken
  • trial preparation

The Ideal Candidate

You'll:

  • hold an appropriate paralegal qualification (or equivalent) or will have proven experience in civil litigation within a legal environment
  • have a working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules
  • be an excellent communicator at all levels of the organisation including members, senior colleagues and clients
  • be self motivated with excellent organisational skills and an eye for detail will also be important

Please ensure you submit your application as soon as you can as depending on responses, we may close this advert earlier than the closing date.
