This is a great opportunity for an individual to join a busy Accounts Department in a firm of local solicitors providing essential support to the Finance Director and other staff.  The position is part-time (3.5 hours per day - mornings) and based in our Newport, Isle of Wight office.

Day to day tasks and responsibilities include:

·        Providing administrative support to the Finance Director;

·         Performing data entry;

·         Preparing and entering journals into the system;

·         Sending client payments via an online banking system;

·         Paying supplier invoices;

·         Performing bank reconciliations daily and monthly;

·         Banking;

·         Assisting with matter records and data management.

Key requirements include:

·        The ability to work independently;

·         Confidence in managing figures and high value money transactions;

·         A good understanding of financial systems and processes;

·         Basic bookkeeping skills;

·         Excellent organizational and time-management skills;

·         IT competency;

The successful candidate will, ideally, have some previous experience working in an financial environment, or a legal accounting setting with knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules, although further training will be given.
