SERVICEMASTER CONTRACT SERVICES (MANCHESTER)
A new position has arisen for a Payroll Administrator in our fast-growing well-established cleaning services and maintenance company. We provide daily commercial cleaning services across Greater Manchester and Cheshire.
Vital to this position is the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. The company employ over 350 members of staff. Strong payroll administrative experience, excellent time management and attention to detail are prerequisites to this role.
PERMANENT POSITION – Part Time – Flexible Hours between 9.30am & 3.30pm - 16 hours per week
SALARY - £12,480.00 per annum
HOLIDAYS - 20 days + bank holidays pro rata
WHAT YOU WILL DO DAILY AS A PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR
Provide a high level of comprehensive, efficient and supportive work within the payroll administrative function.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR A PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR (but are not limited to)
- Complete all administration tasks associated with the new starter process. Onboarding employees on to the monthly payroll and time and attendance systems. Ensuring all right to work documentation is in line with company requirements and all staff have the legal right to work in the UK.
- Issuing employees with identification badges and issuing Company handbooks and employment contracts.
- Maintaining the DBS database. Processing DBS applications for new staff when required. Monitoring the DBS status of existing staff and ensuring any due to expire are renewed.
- Communicating any DBS updates to our clients and operations team where nessesary.
- Maintaining staff holidays and absence records. Ensuring all holiday requests are communicated to the operations management team and input into the payroll software for processing once approved. Processing all absence, ensuring absence records are maintained.
- Maintaining the company training records for all staff. Ensuring new starters are added, leavers are removed, and any staff changes are updated accordingly.
- Assisting with the administration of any employment contract changes. Ensuring the documentation is fully complete, recorded on the payroll system and personnel files are up to date.
- Maintenance of employee files, ensuring all documentation is scanned and saved accordingly.
- Maintenance of payroll/employee spreadsheets ensuring data is correct and up to date.
- Supporting with the maintenance of the time and attendance software.
- Supporting the Payroll Manager will all necessary payroll and administrative functions.
- Dealing with calls from employees and operations team to support and advise on payroll related matters.

KEY SKILLS FOR A PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR
- Strong communication skills / peer relationships - both informal and formal
- Good organisation skills, excellent prioritisation, and time management skills
- Proactive and confident
- Attention to detail/accuracy within all aspects of administration.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Package - in particular, Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Numerate and experience in using payroll/time and attendance systems.
- Ability to work on own initiative and within a fast-paced environment.
- Discretion when dealing with sensitive data.
- The ability to multi tasks and manage own workload.
- Ability to work closely with other departments within the organisation.
- Practice and be honest in all actions, communication and tasks
