Reed & Accountancy & Finance is seeking a motivated and talented Payroll & Accounts Assistant to join a finance team. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in payroll administration and accounts management. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our payroll processes and maintaining our accounts with precision.
Day to day of the role:
- Administer time and attendance records for payroll processing.
- Reconcile payroll and handle monthly payroll reporting.
- Correspond with HMRC and stay updated with the latest payroll legislation.
- Support the Finance Manager and HR Manager with ad hoc payroll-related tasks.
- Manage the aged debtor list to ensure there are no overdue balances.
- Liaise with customers’ accounting and logistics teams to resolve outstanding issues.
- Issue credit notes and account for customer invoices/debit notes for rebates and other charges.
- Assist with the purchase ledger and provide cover when necessary.
- Offer support to the Finance Manager and CFO as required.
Required skills & qualifications:
- Previous experience in a payroll and accounts role.
- AAT qualified/part-qualified or qualified by experience.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with Sage 50.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and maintain a can-do attitude.
