We are currently seeking a dedicated Payroll Administrator to join an outstanding accountancy practice located in York where you will play a pivotal role in processing a variety of payrolls for clients.
Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing Expertise: you will be responsible for efficiently processing a range of payrolls, which may vary from weekly to monthly.
- Starter and Leaver Processing: You will manage the process of onboarding new employees and handling the departure of leavers across multiple clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Holiday Pay and Statutory Payments: Utilizing your knowledge of current legislation, you will accurately calculate holiday pay and assess entitlement to statutory payments such as Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP), Statutory Paternity Pay (SPP), Statutory Adoption Pay (SAP), and Statutory Sick Pay (SSP).
- Pension Contributions Management: You will be responsible for uploading pension contributions to various pension providers, ensuring timely and accurate submission in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- PAYE and CIS Returns: Process PAYE payments and Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) returns accurately and promptly, adhering to HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) guidelines.
- HMRC Compliance and Reporting: Meet HMRC submission deadlines consistently, maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements. Prepare and distribute P60s and P45s as needed.
Requirements:
- Experience in payroll processing, whether gained in an accountancy practice or any other industry, is essential for this role.
- Effective Communication Skills: Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as you will interact with clients daily, addressing their payroll queries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Strong Numeracy Skills and Attention to Detail: Possess strong numeracy skills and meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in payroll processing and compliance with regulations.
- Proficiency with Payroll Systems: Experience using payroll systems, accounting software, or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools
