Your new companyDue to the partnership between Hays and Sandwell Council we are looking for experienced Payroll Assistants to join the Finance team on a temporary basis. This assignment will be a minimum of 12 weeks and may have the possibility of being extended until April 2024.Your new roleAn exciting opportunity has arisen to join a very diligent and industrious team, providing payroll, pensions, reconciliation and systems services to Sandwell Council and a broad range of other local and national external clients, using a hybrid working model. The team's objective is to pay staff on the various monthly/weekly payrolls accurately and on time, in line with contractual and statutory obligations to predefined timetables.The successful candidate will work flexibly within the team to help deliver a timely and effective service to clients. You must be able to demonstrate your knowledge and experience of payroll regulations and procedures, such as PAYE, NI, SSP. SMP, Student Loans, Pension (e.g. Teachers and Local Government, Auto–Enrolment), and Gross to Net calculations.Having good administration and customer services skills, being well–organised and the ability to work independently with good attention to detail, are all essential requirements for this role. Essential requirements would be experience Microsoft products, Oracle E Business suites and Oracle Cloud Fusion.Handling enquiries from a range of audiences, as well as organising and maintaining accurate records using ICT systems including Microsoft Office and Oracle Applications.What you'll need to succeedThe ideal candidate should have experience within a similar role, have excellent communication skills, be efficient will also have excellent ICT skills and working in a busy Public Sector organisation previous would be beneficial.
