The Role
In this role no two days will be the same. You’ll be providing strategic leadership regarding the growth of our payroll services one minute and be hands on processing payroll the next.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring smooth operations across our different payrolls which include weekly and monthly pay. You’ll lead our established team to continually improve payroll processes whilst maintaining legislative payroll compliance.
You’ll be working cross functionally with our Compliance and Customer Care, Finance and Commercial teams. People are at the heart of everything we do and ensuring our contractors and our internal colleagues are paid accurately and timely is of paramount importance to us.
We’ve found that hybrid working suits our colleagues best - with 3 days in, 2 days out model. However, our offices are available 5 days a week for you to use.
The Responsibilities
People Management
- As a people manager in our business, you’ll need to display emotional intelligence, empathetic leadership and the passion and drive to inspire your team.
- You’ll ensure your team have regular 1-2-1’s to support their development as well as all usual line manager responsibilities.
Payroll Knowledge
- Strong understanding of volume payroll processes, legal compliance and colleague types. (PAYE, Umbrella, Limited).
- Demonstrated experience of ensuring monthly and annual submissions are accurately completed across multiple payrolls. Such as P45, P60, P11D, FPS.
- Ability to manually calculate Tax, NI, Pension and other statutory deductions.
Service Excellence
- Act as the escalation point for any colleague or client queries.
- Providing insights and solutions to enhance client experience.
- Work collaboratively and cross functionally to remove barriers to success.
