US law firm based in stunning offices is hiring a new Payroll Specialist to join the London office on a permanent basis.
Salary up to £60,000
Hybrid Working of 4 days in the office and Friday working remotely, 35 hour working week
Offices close to St Pauls
The successful Payroll Specialist will collaborate with the London HR team leading on all monthly payroll for the London and European offices. The London office has a headcount of approximately 100 staff and the Payroll Specialist will run payroll as well as support the senior HR team with projects based around process improvement and research into improving existing benefits offering for the firm.
Responsibilities for the Payroll Specialist will include:
- Process all London payroll on a monthly basis ensuring a high level of accuracy and working with HR team and 3rd party providers as necessary
- Process all new joiners and leavers ensuring correct tax treatment and compliance procedures
- Adding new joiners and calculating the monthly pension schemes / contributions
- Reconciliation of payroll, monthly Journal and reports, End of Year Processing and answering any queries from HMRC including but not limited to P60s and P45’s
- Supporting the Finance team with calculating annual PAYE settlement Agreement tax and NI
- Attend relevant webinar/seminars to keep up to date with changes in payroll legislation.
- Deal with any payroll related queries from London and European based employees.
- Assumes responsibility for maintaining the highest level of confidentiality of all financial and systems-related information.
- Responsible for benefits administration for the London and European office including pension, life insurance; critical illness; private medical insurance; season ticket loans; cycle to work scheme; eye test; gym allowance and medical cash plan.
- Supporting the Senior HR Manager maintaining knowledge of trends, developments and new technologies
The successful Payroll Specialist will be CIPP qualified, or equivalent, and must have a minimum of five years’ experience working within a dual domestic / international payroll position, preferably within a law firm. Experience of using Workday based payroll systems is preferred. In addition, they will preferably have supervisory experience as well as the need to have excellent attention to detail, communication and organisational skills.
