Personal Assistants required in Reydon near Southwold
Zero hours, to cover sickness, holidays, etc.
Weekdays - £13.00 per hour & Weekends - £15.00 per hour
Job reference: 4871
About me
I'm a 30 year old male currently living in Reydon, Suffolk. (subject to change in upcoming months)
Looking for experienced Personal Assistants for work in a private care setting to enable myself to live a more productive and fuller life.
I have mental and physical health difficulties including; Autism, PTSD, & Fibromyalgia, alongside other conditions.
I'm currently crutch bound, and a part-time wheelchair user, but looking for help to change these needs in an attempt to regain my previous self.
Although the physical and mental health difficulties are present, I'm a pretty down-to-earth person, and ideally am looking for someone with a similar outlook, to help encourage and drive me towards my goals.
I have a large, but friendly Dog with some medical needs, who's been my support animal since late 2017 to early 2018. It's imperative you're comfortable with Dogs.
A passion for gaming isn't discouraged here, either! I've been competing in various titles for 15+ years and am no stranger to professional level of play. In-fact, I'd prefer someone to talk "nerd" to.
Limitations in my abilities in some areas make it difficult for me to understand/process information, especially a lot of it a once, I get extremely overwhelmed which then has a knock-on effect on my physical health (stupid fibro)
So competence in Math, literacy and IT skills is a key-requirement for me, as I'll need assistance with things of a financial nature, form-filling, and explanation of correspondence, etc.
Got a passion for food? I have it too! And if it weren't for my limited capabilities, I'd probably have attempted a catering course.
So with that said; Ability to Cook & Prep food, is essential! - Passionate flare encouraged, too! As I will at times force myself to do more than I probably should, I'll need some support.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Driving to Appointments / Shopping / Vising friends and family, etc
Financial assistance, including help with form filling/help understanding complex and or complicated information.
Help engaging in social situations and going out more.
Help managing medications and some light-personal care (lower legs)
All household tasks, including, but not limited to;
Washing & Drying
Cleaning the home, including bathroom
Cooking & meal prep
Stripping & remaking bed.
Keeping Garden Clean & Tidy (although I do have a gardener, so I mean bins, dog mess cleaning, etc)
Shopping trips & putting shopping away
Dog walking
Essential Criteria
A full driving licence
Comfortable around the usage tobacco, and medical cannabis
Flexible nature
Competent use of Microsoft office programs such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Great oral communication skills
Ability to work under own initiative as well as with given instruction
Down-to-earth, passionate human being
Previous experience in a similar role
Physically able to support me, as I'm not a small lad by any means. E.g. I will need you to be able to push my wheelchair (I’m 300lbs)
Desirable Criteria
Gym-enjoyer
Computer component/building knowledge
Graphic Design, or a passion for Art & Design
ECDL Level 3+
Someone chilled out, but supportive.
