This firm specialises in providing top-tier legal advice across a range of complex planning and environmental matters, serving a diverse clientele from large developers to local authorities. About the Role:
The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of planning and ESG matters, including but not limited to:
- Providing expert counsel on development consents, enforcement issues, and environmental impacts.
- Advising on complex regeneration, heritage and BNG (Biodiversity net gain) projects.
- Advising on planning applications and appeals.
- Navigating the intricacies of local and national planning policies and legislation.
- Representing clients in planning inquiries and judicial reviews.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering strategic planning advice to clients on a wide range of environmental and development projects.
- Drafting and negotiating planning agreements and supporting legal documents.
- Engaging with stakeholders, including local planning authorities, developers, and community groups.
Required Experience:
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales or Foreign Qualified with a strong academic background.
- Proven experience in planning and environmental law, gained within a reputable law firm or in-house team.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- A passion for planning and environmental law, with a keen interest in contributing to impactful projects.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Committed to professional development and staying abreast of changes in planning legislation and practice.
