We are looking for a Power BI developer to join our team at SThree. We are a FTSE 250, global wide recruitment consultancy who are the game changers in STEM recruitment.
As the Power BI Developer you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights and support data-driven decision making. You will also collaborate with other developers, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure the quality and accuracy of the data and the user experience.
This will be a hybrid role with 1 day a week in the office which would be every Wednesday. You will be able to work from our central London or Glasgow offices, whichever is closest to you.
What you'll be doing:
- Understanding the business requirements, designing the data model, and developing visualisations that provide actionable insights.
- Managing data sets, ensuring they are clean, accurate, and ready for analysis. This often involves data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Work closely with various stakeholders, including business analysts, project managers, and data scientists, to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that meet them.
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of the data presented in the dashboards and reports. This involves validating the data and implementing quality checks.
- Train end-users on how to use the dashboards and reports effectively. This includes explaining how to interpret the data and make data-driven decisions.
- Troubleshoot data-related issues and maintain the Power BI infrastructure to ensure it's up-to-date and running smoothly.
- Stay updated with the latest features, updates, and best practices to leverage them effectively.
- Ensuring data security, implementing appropriate access controls and data protection measures.

What we're looking for:
- Significant experience in the development of Reports within Azure, utilising functionality such as Azure Data Factory / Lake, PowerBI, Logic and Function Apps and Azure SQL.
- Knowledge of data transformations, pipelines, structured / unstructured data and data ingestion ETL processes.
- Strong experience of working in an Agile delivery team and producing and deploying applications in a production environment.
- Experience in graphical representation of data, with a solid design portfolio.
- Experience working with business stakeholders, taking conceptual requirements, and turning them into detailed reports.
- Excellent attention to detail, the ability to identify errors and inconsistencies in data and correct issues.
- Strong collaboration skills, demonstrating the ability to effectively collaborate with other developers to achieve project goals and deliver high-quality solutions.
