The Role: Printer/Lead Machine Operator - Southend £29,000 - £36,000
My client based in Southend is currently seeking an experienced Printer/ Lead Machine Operative. The successful candidate will be working as part of a team to produce printed and laminated materials often using solvent based in products.
Job Requirements
- Operate printing machines to produce high-quality printed materials according to job specifications.
- Set up and adjust printing equipment based on job requirements, including loading materials, adjusting settings, and monitoring the production process.
- Monitor the printing process to ensure quality control and make adjustments as needed to maintain consistency and accuracy.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with printing equipment to minimize downtime and maintain workflow.
- Follow correct machine operation, safety procedures, and quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on printing machines to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
- Checking inventory of printing supplies and materials, and report as needed to support production requirements.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Document production data, job specifications, and quality control measures for reporting and record-keeping purposes.
- Ensure workstations are maintained and kept clean and tidy.
- Upkeep of equipment to a basic standard, general lubrication and cleaning etc.
- Report equipment failures to engineering and escalate where appropriate.
- Report near misses.
- Wearing of PPE as identified during operation of machinery.
The Candidate
- Proven experience operating printing machines or manufacturing machines in a production environment.
- Strong technical skills with the ability to set up, adjust, and troubleshoot printing equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality control skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
- Knowledge of printing processes, materials, and industry best practices.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
The Package
- Salary between £29,000 - £36,000
- Two shifts available either 6am - 4 pm Monday - Thursday or 2pm - Midnight Monday - Thursday (Premium Shift allowance on all hours worked after 6 pm)
