Our client who specializes in manufacturing different gearing systems is looking for someone who can be responsible for all the manufacturing-related activities. The primary duties will include planning, coordinating and controlling all the steps in the production process to make sure products are delivered to high-quality standards, on time, within the budget and in compliance with health and safety legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for Production and material planning (through all stages of production to shipment), and production processes
- Develop and execute daily, weekly, monthly and annual production schedules
- Monitor production progress, identify and address any variances from the plan
- Monitoring productivity rates, standards and quality control
- Liaise with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of materials and bought-in parts, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget
- Analyse production capacity and resource availability to identify and mitigate potential bottlenecks · Drive continuous improvement activities in quality, cycle times, process improvement, machine availability through lean techniques and value engineering to enhance the capability of existing processes and remove waste
- Organise workflow to meet specifications and deadlines, ensuring quality control standards are met · Striving to reduce expenses and increase productivity across all product lines · Ensure accuracy of production procedures and documentation
- Identify potential production equipment purchases
- Lead and collaborate with production staff to ensure efficient and safe operations
- Manage positive resolution strategies for production obstacles. Escalate any problems or obstacles · Prepare and present production reports to management
- Train and coach the teams
Skills and Qualifications/experience
- Relevant qualification or at least 5-10 years’ demonstrable experience required.
- Proven knowledge & experience of the Engineering Lifecycle.
- Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations.
- Strong understanding of production planning principles and methodologies (e.g. MRP)
- Excellent understanding of lean manufacturing.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel to support work-in-progress and production schedules.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to operate all manufacturing or production line equipment.
- Good leadership, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to align individual and team goals with the Company's overall strategy
