Project Officer (Heritage)

£24,918.00 per annum,plus £1239 essential car user allowance

Funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund

2 years Fixed Term Contract

30 hours per week (agile working - excellent work life balance)

Based fromHead Office, CF24 1GG with travel to Neath / Port Talbot

Reporting to Social Value Manager (Development Team)

Linc Cymru is a Social Housing Association, dedicated to improving people's quality of life in Wales. As part of our commitment to preserving local heritage, we are proud to announce an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Project Officer on our 'What Once Stood' project, funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

The Opportunity:

'What Once Stood' aims to bring the local community together, ensuring the preservation and celebration of the heritage, and rich history of The Former Lower Dyffryn School in Port Talbot and Caewern House in Neath.

This unique project will document the cherished memories of the local community and create a treasure trove of stories for future generations to inherit.

'What Once Stood' will provide training and volunteering opportunities, community arts projects, school engagement activities, historical research and the preservation of archives and will reuse materials from the existing buildings.

What we need from you:

-

Organisational skills - You will engage with the local community, work in collaboration with partner organisations, community groups, the local authority, and the National Lottery Heritage Fund. You will organise andfacilitate events, set up and manage a project steering group, recruit volunteers, involve tenants and residents in the project, and bring heritage to life.

Passion for history and community engagement -We are looking for someone who can support, advise, and guide the local community to flourish and grow with the project, unlock hidden talents, open opportunities, and allow people to reach their full potential.

Approachable, friendly, and welcoming - This role is most suited to someone who loves to meet new people, chat, listen and learn about other people's lived experiences and memories. Someone who can build meaningful relationships with a range of people and organisations to achieve the outcomes of the project and to benefit the local community.

Ambitious for success - Here at Linc, we are passionate, ambitious, andrespectful. We take pride in everything we do; we are creating a happier, healthier Wales. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated to lead the project and is enthusiastic and ambitious to ensure its success.

The ability to speak Welsh is preferred, but is not essential.

Responsibilities:

-

Develop and deliver the 'What Once Stood' project, ensuring its successfrom start to finish.

-

Work closely with community members, encouraging their active participation, collect their stories, memories, and artifacts related to Lower Dyffryn School and Caewern House.

-

Organise and host community events and workshopsto engage the public and foster a sense of pride and ownership towards the project.

-

Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, such as local authorities, primary schools, and historical societies, to ensure the project's success.

-

Create and oversee a database of collected materials, ensuring their preservation is accessible to all and easy-to-use formats.

-

Produce case studies, project updatereports, and ensure monitoring and reporting information is accurately recorded

Achieve the outcomes of the project funding

-

Ensure high visibility acknowledgement of the National Lottery Heritage Fund on site, online and in all project activities, ensuring National Lottery players are thanked for their support
