In this role, you will:
- Support senior management regarding the development and implementation of effective risk management frameworks in Market Risk areas and lead all aspects that these are operated against by Treasury and business areas.
- Responsible for supporting the review, monitoring and reporting of Market Risk limits, including breach issues in line with policy.
- Preparation and review of briefings, project updates, committee papers and other relevant information and presentation to Executive and Senior Management Teams, Risk Committees and relevant regulatory authorities.
- Support analysis, interpretation and dissemination of upstream risk developments from regulatory and other international bodies as applicable to Market Risk areas.
What will make you stand out?
A solid understanding of Prudential Risk management approaches, including Prudential Risk measurement techniques, MI and reporting framework. Analytic and numeric ability, combined with excellent report writing and verbal communication skills. Well-developed influencing and networking skills with an understanding of risk management approaches Sound knowledge and understanding of the risk metrics within the group's major business areas. Strong intuition for business, possibly gained from experience in a lending/underwriting unit or risk function.
Experience with any of the following will help you to stand out but is not necessary in order to apply for this role;
- Knowledge of Access, VBA, and SAS.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, particularly aggregation and effective presentation of large volumes of data and information.
- Previous Treasury Risk experience advantageous

More about the team
The UK Prudential Risk team support the UK Chief Risk Office in ensuring effective risk management across the business in meeting regulatory requirements for the areas of treasury risk, model management, and capital for BOI UK. The team is also responsible for regulatory change in relation to Prudential Risk areas. An analytics function within the team supports these areas and other teams in the wider risk office.
Key responsibilities of the team include 2LOD oversight of ICAAP, ILAAP, Recovery and Resolution processes, maintenance and oversight of relevant risk policies, frameworks and risk appetite metrics, reporting, monitoring and assurance.
This is a hybrid role and can be done anywhere within easy reach of Belfast,Bristol or London. Travel may be required for in-person collaboration including team meetings, training and planning sessions.
