Temporary PT Respite Care Support Worker x2

Pay rate: £12.00 per hour PAYE
Hours per week: 20 Monday to Friday, 7am- 2pm, 2pm-10pm
This opening assignment is for 6 months

Enhanced DBS required for this role
The purpose of this role is to provide a high quality of care and support to meet the needs of adults in Respite Services, either at Wickett Hern Road or Eden Lodge. The Services are CQC registered providing short stays for adults with a learning disability and/or associated disability. Shift times are: days 7am- 2pm, afters 2pm-10pm.
Key responsibilities:
Support guests with their daily living needs including personal, nutritional, social and emotional in line with their individual care plans. To support guests with accessing new activities / opportunities and leisure interests to stimulate and encourage independence.
Implement and support in the use of outcome based support plans, which are person-centred and help the individuals to make informed choices and decisions, enabling them to clarify and express their needs to achieve outcomes, manage risk and contribute to Service Planning.
Active involvement within handover’s, meetings and guests’ reviews delivering an overview of guest care where required by the shift manager in a concise and professional manner.
Responsibility to ensure that any concern about the alleged abuse of an Adult at Risk is addressed ensuring that South Yorkshire Safeguarding Adults procedures are correctly followed and implemented.
May be required to work more than 20 hours per week.

Experience & Knowledge:
Experience in Health & Social Care.
Experience of management in health and social care.
Awareness of working in a Community Led Support Model.
Knowledge of relevant national strategies, Health and Social Care legislation and initiatives associated with the post.
Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
Skills & Abilities:
Flexible to work more than 20 hours per week if required.
