SalaryWe have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Purchasing and Operations Assistant to join an expanding business in the Truro area.
The role will see the chosen candidate completing the following tasks:
To undertake the processing of orders for goods, materials, consumables, and services to ensure that the company’s operational needs are met. This includes accounting for pricing and price breaks, quality, delivery and ensuring the continuity of supply.To monitor and chase the on-time delivery of all incoming goods and maintain documentation in line with the company’s process and procedures. This will include liaising with suppliers and freight carriers as required.
Work collaboratively with shipping, warehouse and sales to ensure on-time despatch of Resales goods in line with customer and the business expectations.
To support the internal sales team with Resales enquiries as required
To assist the Planner Purchaser with their functions including, but not limited to, controlling, maintaining and transacting the flow of stock into and out of the warehouse and record keeping.
Working with the Planner Purchaser to provide operational summaries to key stakeholders within the business relating to stock management, levels, and price trends.
To maintain a clean working environment within the warehouse in line with EHS policies.
To be an active and flexible member of the Operations Team and to provide support as necessary to them and your line manager.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and raise purchase orders and order schedules in line with customer requirements and have responsibility for maintaining the associated records.
Chase supplier acknowledgement of orders and confirmation of key information e.g. quantity and date.
Liaise with Sales and provide the necessary support for fulfilling customer requirements.
Review and chase all incoming deliveries.
Work with shipping and warehouse to plan inbound deliveries to meet customer delivery date at minimum cost.
Work with the Sales department to create and maintain Resales part numbers, including supplier reference fields. Support the Shipping team to administer and maintain shipping documentation in line with company policy.
Maintain, control and transact the inventory for raw material, goods bought in for resale, pick and pack of resales, shipping of manufactured and resale product and any other duties as deemed necessary.
Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations.
Work with the purchasing team in liaising with suppliers regarding purchasing processes.
Work closely with others in the purchasing/procurement function to monitor and report on any issues which present risk or opportunities/market trends to the company, as well as improving opportunities for continuous business improvement.
Prepare reports or assist with preparing reports and updates as and when needed.
Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and communications in a professional and consistent manner.
Liaise with your line manager regarding contacting suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues.
Provide cover to operations in line with the business needs and with agreement of line management.
Qualifications:
Previous experience of working in a purchasing team preferably within a manufacturing environment but not essential.Experience of working with suppliers is useful.
Computer literate with good Excel skills and previous experience working with MRP desirable.
