As a Quantity Surveyor, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, managing the commercial aspects and ensuring cost efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
- Monitor project costs and expenditures to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Conduct regular valuations and assessments of work done.
- Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiations, and contracts.
- Identify and assess variations to contracts and implement cost control measures.
- Prepare and submit monthly cost reports and financial forecasts.
- Collaborate with project teams to resolve commercial and contractual issues.
- Provide expert advice on commercial strategies and risk management.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and relevant industry standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and procurement processes.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., MS Excel, cost estimating software).
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Membership of relevant professional bodies (e.g., RICS) is desirable.
