Rota based on 26 hours a week to include 2-3 evenings for a part -time position. Rota will have late starts and early finishes. 1:4 Saturdays. You will be required to work at our Bishopworth's branch also.
About Avon Lodge
Avon Lodge is a well-established practice with a very loyal client base. Animal care is at the heart of what we do, followed closely by caring about our clients and fellow team members. We have a large waiting area with two consulting rooms and one nurse consulting room.
About the role
Busy! A warm welcome for our clients and their pets is essential! We consult throughout the day except for a couple of hours at lunchtime. When there are two vets consulting, phones ringing and clients at the door to collect their food or prescription orders you will need to be unphased! We have a twice weekly order of drugs and food which needs unpacking in the middle of the day so that reception is tidy for the afternoon consulting session. Each receptionist has an administrative role for which they will be given time away from the desk (when possible) to carry out the tasks.
About the Team and Culture
Avon Lodge has two branches; the main one at Wells Road, Knowle, and the other at Church Road, Bishopsworth. The receptionist role requires working at both sites depending on the rota. We are a sociable team and involve ourselves in the local community by supporting fundraising events, plus national events such as the Macmillan 'Big Coffee Morning'.
Applicant requirements
Ability to multi-task and provide a warm welcome to our clients and their pets is essential! Good team worker as this role can be quite challenging and supporting each other can get you through the tricky days. Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care environment is preferred. Have a clean driving licence.
