You will work 37.5 hours a week over 5 shifts, The hours we operate are between 6am - 8pm and from Monday to Sunday, due to this the shifts work on a rota system so they will vary week on week.
What you'll be doing
You will answer telephone calls from patients, GP surgeries and other hospital staff on all aspects relating to booking appointments. To distribute calls and messages, using a PBX/ switchboard.
You will also provide advice in all matters relating to patient’s appointments, both by telephone and face to face.
You will process and manage referrals in order to meet the requirements of Practice Plus Group performance objectives
Booking outpatient sessions within strict booking guidelines adhering to breach dates and ensuring optimal utilisation of clinic lists
You will also be responsible for booking patient transport as requested, to call taxis for patients or visitors. To occasionally arrange return transport for visiting Consultants
What we’ll look for in you
You will be experienced in dealing with the public, both in person and over the phone, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to manage difficult situations in a calm manner.
Your previous experience of working in a reception role in a healthcare or service sector will be invaluable but just as important is your ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, work flexibly and prioritise your own workload when under pressure.

- Strong communication skills (Written and Phone)
- Substantial reception experience in Healthcare or service sector
