SalaryOur Receptionists are the face of Newport Live, as the first point of contact when visiting our sites; greeting our members and visitors in person and answering calls along with our Customer Services team.
We have a number of part-time shifts available at Newport International Sports Village, and are looking for people to join the team as soon as possible.
Who are we looking for?
You should have a friendly and approachable nature, with a dedication to delivering excellent customer service and the ability to remain calm during busier periods (typically events and peak times).
Previous Receptionist experience is beneficial, but full training will be provided.
What will you be doing?
Our Receptionists are multi-taskers, and two shifts are rarely the same. The main responsibilities will include:
- Greeting customers and visitors on arrival
- Dealing with customers queries face-to-face, on the telephone or via email
- Taking payments and assisting with paperwork for banking
- Assisting with sales through positive promotion of our activities and services
- Ensuring the Reception area is always clean and well presented
- Taking an important role in any emergency situations, including site evacuations
Salary: Uplifted to Real Living Wage (£12 per hour from 01 April)

Hours: There are currently three shifts available (please see below) with opportunities to work extra shifts as and when required for absence cover across all sites
Wednesdays 14:00-22:15 (8.25 hours per week) at the Geraint Thomas National Velodrome of Wales (Newport International Sports Village)
Saturdays 13:00-19:15 (6.25 hours per week) at the Regional Pool and Tennis Centre (Newport International Sports Village)
Sundays 14:00-21:15 (7.25 hours per week) at the Geraint Thomas National Velodrome of Wales (Newport International Sports Village)
