About the Role
Duties include:
- Triaging calls, directing clients/ patients appropriately to relevant service.
- Greeting patients and visitors to the practice.
- Booking in patients and visitors in-line with practice appointments and visitors procedures.
- Diverting calls and taking messages as appropriate.
- Processing patient prescription requests.
- Sorting, reviewing and distributing incoming internal mail.
- Processing outgoing mail following the procedure.
- Receiving all incoming deliveries, opening and distributing accordingly.
- Completing the administration, including registrations and deductions.
About the Candidate
- Experience in a GP practice or a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, with a clear and polite telephone manner;
- Ability to work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner, respecting patients at all times;
- Experience of working with the general public, being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations;
- Confidence to work as part of a team and ability to "think on your feet";
- Strong IT and administration skills;
- Previous medical or healthcare receptionist experience is desirable.
