Job Description: Registered Manager - Children's Home (Solo Placement)
Position Overview:
The Registered Manager for our Children's Home will be responsible for the overall management and administration of the facility, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations, and providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for the children in our care. The Registered Manager will oversee all aspects of the home's operations, including staff management, child welfare, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management:
- Provide strong leadership and direction to staff members, ensuring a positive and supportive working environment.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, supervision, and performance management of staff to ensure high standards of care and professionalism.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and systems to support the effective operation of the Children's Home.
- Child Welfare and Safeguarding:
- Ensure the well-being, safety, and protection of all children in the home, adhering to statutory regulations and guidelines.
- Develop and implement care plans and risk assessments for each child, ensuring their individual needs are met and their rights are respected.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to any safeguarding concerns or incidents, following established procedures and protocols.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Maintain full compliance with Ofsted regulations, standards, and inspection requirements, ensuring the home operates within legal frameworks and best practices.
- Prepare for and facilitate regular inspections by Ofsted, ensuring all necessary documentation, records, and evidence are readily available and up-to-date.
- Address any recommendations or areas for improvement identified by Ofsted inspections, taking prompt action to implement necessary changes.
- Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Develop positive relationships with external agencies, local authorities, and other stakeholders involved in the care and support of children in the home.
- Collaborate with social workers, healthcare professionals, schools, and other relevant parties to ensure coordinated and holistic support for each child.
- Act as a representative of the Children's Home in external forums, meetings, and networks, advocating for the needs and interests of the children in our care.
- Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of care and support provided to children, identifying areas for improvement and implementing quality assurance measures.
- Lead on the development and implementation of initiatives to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and outcomes of the Children's Home.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, reflection, and improvement among staff members, encouraging innovation and best practice.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in a leadership or managerial role within a children's residential setting or deputy manager looking to step up.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and guidance pertaining to Children's Homes and residential childcare.
- Strong understanding of child development, attachment theory, trauma-informed practice, and therapeutic approaches to care.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Commitment to promoting the welfare, rights, and best interests of children and young people.

Salary: £40,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
