Senior Buyer - Indirect Capital Goods

SENIOR BUYER - Indirect / Capital goods

The role will play a pivotal role in managing the procurement of significant equipment, machinery, and capital assets essential for our organization's operations and strategic growth. Role’s responsibilities will encompass the entire procurement lifecycle, from identifying sourcing opportunities and negotiating terms to ensuring timely delivery and compliance with company standards. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of procurement practices related to capital investments.

Responsibilities:

• Search for possible suppliers, mainly for Domestic and Imported Capital Goods ( Machines, Equipment & Utilities).
• Obtaining techno-commercial quotations after discussions with the suppliers
• Techno-commercial: negotiations (Based on value limit), comparison & evaluation of quotations
• Supporting in the release of Purchase orders, payment processing ( L/C, request etc.) .
• Nominating freight forwarder
• Pursuing with the suppliers for delivery as per project schedule .
• Arranging Customs Clearance through CHA
• Arranging installation & Commissioning of the Capital Goods.
• Monitoring project schedule and all related activities

Qualifications and experience:

• Engineering qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical.
• Good experience in the procurement of Capital Goods or equivalent
• Hands-on experience in material purchase
• Working knowledge in Imports and having hands on exposure in Custom Clearance through CHA
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships
• Proficient in SAP, e-Procurement, MS Office
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers
