Murray Myers are very pleased to be assisting an engineering client with their recruitment of a Senior BuyerCapital Equipment & Services reporting into the Head of Procurement
Role Purpose
As a Senior BuyerCapital Equipment and Services, you'll bring experience of working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure a successful commercial outcome, a basic knowledge of contract law and experience of working within cross functional unit teams to deliver procurement scope to support a new facility fit out
Key Activities / Decision Areas
1. Placement and management of a variety of contracts covering new CNC machinery, jigs / fixtures and other building / facilites equipment to fit out the new facility, ensuring meeting the quality requirements and economies of scale are achieved to deliver best value for money contracts.
2. Hold a good supply market knowledge and communications to ensure effective procurement of equipment and services delivering best value for money.
3. Development, preparation and completion of tender specifications, documentation, evaluation and contract award.
4. Manages equipment purchases including close delivery performance, installation and commissioning within the capital project funding allocation.
5. Manages Service contracts including Risk Assessments and ensure all contractors meet legislation requirements.
6. Responsible for the organisation of delivery, issue, installation, acceptance testing and commissioning of equipment within tight project timescales.
7. Production of monthly financial monitoring reports to update the Project Manager on current spend againstbudget, to facilitate financial planning and forecasting.
8. Manage the afternarket support of any purchased or leased equipment, including warranty, training requirements of the equipment, the right level of maintenace costs and ensure the availability of spare parts.
9. Working in partnership with other procurement manager to ensure the department’s key objectives are being delivered.
Essential role related knowledge, technical skills, qualifications and experience
5 years minimum experience in Procurement of Capital Equipment
Ability to liaise and co-operate with other departments and within a Project Team
Contractor Management of Capital Equipment and /or Services
Proficient in using MS Office - Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel
Able to work on own initiative and with minimum supervision
Self-motivated
Good technical communicator
Conversant with Health, Safety & Environmental risk assessments & method statements
Understanding of facilities & Capability management
Conversant with any statutory terms & conditions of contract
Full Clean Driving licence for travel between sites
FTC 18 months - £50-55K
