Our client based in the Birmingham area is looking for a Senior Buyer to join their growing team. The successful candidate should have proven experience in a similar role and be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills and well as fantastic relationship building.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring on time delivery of all incoming goods to the business
- Managing variable demand working closely with the sales function to ensure availability.
- Managing lead time
- Maintaining and developing relationships with suppliers
- Generation of department KPIs, monitoring trends and maintaining the levels required to support the business needs.
- Responsible for all inbound freight whilst ensuring competitive and reliable schedules are secured.
- Supporting the Purchasing Manager to ensure strategic product category targets are delivered.
- Following market trends relating to the businesses strategic commodities
- Awarding of contracts relating to indirect goods or services.
Skills & Qualifications
- A minimum of 5+ years working in a purchasing role
- CIPS qualified or working towards achieving
- Experience using MRP systems is required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management skills
- Experience of dealing with suppliers globally
- Experience of dealing with freight forwarders
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proficient in Excel with strong mathematical skills
