Gleeson Logistics are currently partnering with an established Manufacturing & Engineering business based in the West Midlands in their search for an Interim Senior Buyer on a 12-18 month contract.
As a Senior Buyer Capital Equipment and Services, you'll bring experience of working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure a successful commercial outcome, a basic knowledge of contract law and experience of working within cross functional unit teams to deliver procurement scope to support a new facility fit out.
Key responsibilities:
1. Placement and management of a variety of contracts covering new CNC machinery, jigs / fixtures and other building / facilities equipment to fit out the new facility, ensuring meeting the quality requirements and economies of scale are achieved to deliver best value for money contracts.
2. Hold a good supply market knowledge and communications to ensure effective procurement of equipment and services delivering best value for money.
3. Development, preparation and completion of tender specifications, documentation, evaluation and contract award.
4. Manages equipment purchases including close delivery performance, installation and commissioning within the capital project funding allocation.
5. Manages Service contracts including Risk Assessments and ensure all contractors meet legislation requirements.
6. Responsible for the organisation of delivery, issue, installation, acceptance testing and commissioning of equipment within tight project timescales.
7. Production of monthly financial monitoring reports to update the Project Manager on current spend against budget, to facilitate financial planning and forecasting.
8. Manage the aftermarket support of any purchased or leased equipment, including warranty, training requirements of the equipment, the right level of maintenance costs and ensure the availability of spare parts.
9. Working in partnership with the procurement manager to ensure the department's key objectives are being delivered.
The Ideal Candidate:
- 5 years minimum experience in Procurement of Capital Equipment
- Ability to liaise and co-operate with other departments and within a Project Team
- Contractor Management of Capital Equipment and /or Services
- Proficient in using MS Office - Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel
- Able to work on own initiative and with minimum supervision
- Conversant with Health, Safety & Environmental risk assessments & method statements
- Understanding of facilities & Capability management
- Conversant with any statutory terms & conditions of contract
- Full Clean Driving licence for travel between sites
