Who We Are

For over 25 years, Native Instruments has been at the forefront of sonic innovation. Guided by our mission to inspire and enable creators to express themselves, we develop integrated audio hardware and software solutions for musicians, producers, engineers, and DJs of all genres and levels of experience.

We are seeking an experienced product leader to lead the teams responsible for our hardware products – Kontrol, Maschine, and Traktor – and the desktop and on-device software that works with them.

As the Senior Director of Product management, you will spearhead the development and management of innovative hardware products. Your role will be crucial in shaping the company's hardware strategy and ensuring our products meet the evolving needs of the music industry.

You will report directly to the Chief Product Officer.

What You'll Do

  • Product Strategy: Lead the creation and execution of Product strategies that align with the company's vision and market trends. Conduct market research to identify opportunities for new products and enhancements to existing products.
  • Portfolio Management: Manage a different portfolio of Products and product lines. Support multiple parallel workstreams, each at a different stage of development, ensuring regular delivery of innovative new products to market.
  • Product Roadmap: Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap, prioritizing projects based on business impact and available resources.
  • Execution: Ensure the development of new products and features is on track and things ship on time. Develop and implement systems for tracking progress, and for holding people accountable for delivery. Anticipate and remove blockers to progress. Manage escalations to senior leadership and with external stakeholders
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of Product managers and cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire product lifecycle from concept to launch, to end-of-life, including design, development, testing, rollout, in-market maintenance, and sunsetting.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support teams to ensure business goals are met and market feedback is incorporated into product development.
  • Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within financial constraints.
  • Market Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies to inform product strategy and maintain competitive advantage.

What You'll Need

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in product management, with significant experience in hardware product and embedded/desktop software development. Experience from within the music technology industry is particularly desirable.
  • Manufacturing Management: The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience successfully leading overseas manufacturing projects, inventory management, and forecasting. Experience with Original Design Manufacturing, Joint Design Manufacturing, and Contract Manufacturing projects highly desired.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate globally-distributed teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong technical background in hardware and embedded systems development, as well as desktop and mobile software.
  • Strategic Thinking: Excellent strategic thinking skills driven by a deep understanding of music technology trends.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas effectively.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
