Senior IT Project Manager

Purpose of the role
We are on a digital and transformative journey shifting our culture to one that is open, innovative and team-driven and deploying market leading and first-in-the world technologies to achieve net-zero operability by 2025. We are also in the process of transitioning and establishing to a new, independent, public corporation that will be responsible for planning Britain’s electricity and gas networks and operating the electricity system.
This role will be to define, scope and deliver the capabilities required across our infrastructure and networks in a Critical National Infrastructure environment, so technical aptitude and understanding will be key.
The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for bringing together the multidisciplinary team who work together to deliver solutions, ensuring delivery meets time, cost and quality criteria.
Core Responsibilities
- Working with a broad range of stakeholders define the scope, plan and costs for delivering the capabilities required for a stand alone business
- Managing project governance, reporting and budgets
- Ensuring the correct processes and controls are being followed and information cascaded
- Managing the delivery schedule around timelines and resourcing
- Bringing together the cross functional multidisciplinary team and leading to deliver, including third party delivery partners
- Supporting with Portfolio Level accountabilities including budgets, resource management, and escalations
- Running planning meetings to agree the delivery schedule
- Managing escalations and conflicts
- Identifying, Resolving and mitigating risks and issues
- Reporting against assigned KPI’s and/or regulatory commitments
- Establishing and leading teams through appropriate delivery governance
- Implementing change which achieves the objectives that have been set
- Working closely with service teams to facilitate transition
- Communicating key delivery information
- Ensuring the correct governance processes are being fulfilled– documentation, business readiness, service transition etc.
