JOB TITLE: SOx IT Control Testing Manager
SALARY: £80,206 to £94,360
LOCATION(S): Edinburgh, Birmingham, Bristol, Halifax, Manchester
HOURS: Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

We’re looking for a Sarbanes Oxley (SOx) IT & Cyber Controls Testing Senior Manager, to lead the delivery of high quality and value adding testing and assessment activities related to IT General Computing Controls (GCCs), supporting the Group's SOx Management Assurance programme. You'll be responsible for enhancing the quality and effectiveness of technology risk and controls through leading a programme of control effectiveness testing activities.
As a Senior Manager, SOx IT ControlTesting,you’ll:
  • Lead a team of experienced technology controls testing professionals and manage controls testing activities in areas such as Network Security, Access Management and Cloud Computing.
  • Evaluate and assess the design and effectiveness of our IT SOx controls in remediating the associated risks in an accurate, complete and transparent way.
  • Produce insights on testing outcomes, thematic findings and read-across opportunities.
  • Transforming the approach to SOx testing and evolving in line with industry trends and automation.
  • Create strong networks and define an engagement model to support with interlock with key stakeholders.
  • Act as a role model for the testing team; create a positive learning culture and high-performing team through coaching/counselling junior team members to help them develop.

What you’ll need:
  • A strong understanding of various Information Technology Assurance Frameworks (COBIT, ISO27001, ITIL, NIST etc.), regulatory requirements (GDP, BASEL, SOX, FCA, etc.), and current and emerging technology trends is essential.
  • Relevant experience in the IT organisation of a financial institution or audit/consulting firm.
  • Significant experience of testing SOx General Computing Controls and experience of managing and closing significant deficiencies.
  • Strong experience in controls risk assessment and testing (IT and/or Business Processes) in Audit or Advisory.
  • Sound understanding of the information technology risk and controls inherent in various technologies (e.g. Cloud, Agile, Mainframe) and related security standard methodologies.
  • Experience in applying different Control Testing methodologies (e.g. CAAT, sampling) within assurance engagements (e.g. agreed upon procedures, integrated audits, SOC, SSAE, investigations, self-assessment, maturity assessment).

And any experience of these would be really useful:
  • A recognised IT risk and control or audit qualification (e.g. CIA, CISA, CISM, CISSP, CRISC)
